At VESTA Modular, we’re honored to be among the list of excellent companies on Crain’s Detroit Business’ “Cool Places To Work in 2020”.
The construction industry, or more specifically for us, the modular construction industry requires a lot of hard work from everyone on staff; from executives and office employees to sales, design, and construction crews. It takes a significant amount of intentional effort to bring together a company culture in which our staff and the community think that we’re “cool.”
Construction careers are vital to the well-being of the economy and the employees in this sector make sure that we all have the safest, high quality infrastructure to work in, live in, and drive on.
Here are some of the ways we help make our employees’ work and home lives easier and “cooler.”
One of the reasons that we were mentioned as a top place to work is that we take care of our employees’ basic essentials such as paying 100% of our employees’ and their dependents’ health, dental, and vision insurance premiums.
Most employees, given the state of the current healthcare market and political volatility surrounding the current marketplace’s infrastructure, appreciate this gesture in showing that we’re looking out for them and their families.
It’s especially important for our employees, as construction requires moving heavy objects, operating heavy machinery, working in the elements, and travel. Our employees need to know that we’re as concerned about their health as they are.
Although tough to do, given the challenges of the Covid-19 outbreak, creating spaces and events for our teams to build relationships and interact in non-work environments has been a great experience for a number of our staff members.
One favorite event mentioned includes Topgolf – a good time whether your team is competitive about their golf game or will get a good chuckle at how challenging it might be to get a good hit on the ball.
For many of the staff members at VESTA, pets are an important part of their lives. Making the workplace pet-friendly is a great way to help your coworkers feel like they’re able to give better care to their pets.
And sometimes, they’re a good reminder during a stressful workday that life is good, pets are cute, and giving a dog a scratch on the back makes both of you a little happier.
If you’re looking to make modular construction a part of your career journey, VESTA is often looking for more excellent team members. We’re a fast paced, fast growing, and award winning construction company. We service the entire country with our modular building and construction services.
