VESTA Modular Helps Rebuild Historic Atlanta Neighborhood
VESTA Modular Helps Rebuild Historic Atlanta Neighborhood
Our team is proud to be a part of a major initiative by Invest Atlanta to revitalize the historic Westside neighborhood in downtown Atlanta. We are working with Place Properties, who won a bid to provide affordable housing in the once-proud area. With the addition of the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium just a few blocks away, Invest Atlanta is hoping to bring life back into the area.
Invest Atlanta’s mission is to advance Atlanta’s global competitiveness by growing a strong economy, building vibrant communities, and increasing economic prosperity for all Atlantans.
Place Properties is a large Atlanta based developer whose CEO, Cecil Phillips, is a fan of modular construction. When the opportunity arose, he reached out to VESTA as the modular contractor. VESTA, in turn, partnered with Norris Homes to provide the modules and Bartley Modular to provide site services for the modules. Oak Construction Group is handling the site work and foundation and The Westside Future Fund is providing all the financing for the homes.
On March 20th, our team completed the set of the first home, which is serving as the model unit. Approximately 70 people attended the event to watch the home being set. The truly exciting thing about the modular process is that merely a week after being set, we have a completely finished home ready for a new family.
“The goal of the project is to provide nice, affordable housing to the area so that people can afford to live close to where they work,” says Cecil Phillips. He continues, “Modular is the best way to accomplish that mission.” VESTA is proud to be a part of this effort and looks forward to providing many more attractive, affordable homes to the area.
