Modular Government Buildings vs. Traditional Construction
Modular government buildings are just as secure and appealing as those built through traditional construction methods, but are more cost effective and time efficient. With modular government buildings, you get the amenities and durability of traditional construction without the extra costs.
The Modular Military Building Process
There’s a four-step process for accessing VESTA’s military modular building inventory:
Reach out and the VESTA team will help you determine the right modular building solution for your military or government project.
Design & Permitting
The VESTA team can design a new building or help you to choose the right design from our selection of used buildings. We’ll also help secure the necessary permits before construction begins.
Our modular buildings are constructed in an off-site facility. This means that on-site preparation and building construction can occur simultaneously, saving you time.
Transportation & Installation
VESTA handles both the transportation and installation of your modular buildings, even to remote areas.
Government Modular Buildings Costs
At VESTA, we offer an operations lease. With an operational lease, you can essentially rent the building for us as long as you need. When your lease ends, the building will return to our inventory. Operational leases can last for years at a time, although they are typically more affordable if they only last for five years or less.
Purchasing your modular building tends to be more cost-effective in the long run if you intend to use your building for more than five years.
Other Cost Factors
There are other factors that might affect the cost of your modular government facilities, such as:
- Building size: Buildings requiring multiple stories or more rooms tend to cost more than smaller buildings.
- New or used: Looking to save a bit of money? Used spaces are more affordable than buying new.
- Permanent or temporary: While permanent buildings cost more up front, the value tends to even out in the long run due to the removal fee associated with temporary buildings.
- Customization: Depending on how much customization your building requires, the price can fluctuate.
- Beyond the Box: VESTA’s Beyond the Box service comes at an additional charge, but many companies find it is worth the value to bundle all of your services with the same high-quality, reliable company.

Frequenty Asked Questions
VESTA Modular offers both new and used modular buildings for lease and purchase. In the modular construction industry, renting and leasing mean the same thing.
If you would like to purchase a modular building, we recommend constructing a custom building to fit your specific needs. If you would like to lease a building, you can still build a new model, or you can choose from our thousands of used buildings in our inventory.
In general, we recommend leasing if you are going to be using your building for less than five years. Typically, it is more cost-effective to lease for short-term space needs and purchase for long-term ones. However, we offer leases for as long as needed, even offering indefinite leases for customers who may require it.
