PVS Chemical Solutions

PVS Chemical Solutions was in need for a new Men’s Shower/Locker/Break Room facility as part of a plan to upgrade facilities at its Chicago manufacturing operation. A very high level of priority was placed on providing a better working environment for the production team. New showers, restrooms and a locker area were provided to replace the aging, existing facilities. In addition, a spacious break room, that will also double as an employee meeting and special events area was added.

The VESTA design-build team provided PVS Chemical Solutions with a permanent structure including full turnkey construction services. VESTA developed the 2,960 SF floor plan and worked with the Project Architect and permit expediter to walk the construction plans through the City of Chicago Building Department. The building design provides for 6 individual showers, a Locker Room with 96 steel lockers, a large Restroom and an 1,100 SF Break Room. It is a Type 2B, non-combustible modular structure. The exterior includes attractive, two tone, high-ribbed steel siding, a white TPO roof, Carrier packaged outdoor rooftop units, high-quality aluminum canopies and decks, steps and ramps which meet both ADA and City of Chicago access requirements. Interior drywall finishes include Sherwin-Williams water-based catalyzed epoxy paint, suspended ceilings feature USG ClimaPlus moisture-resistant tiles with steel and aluminum grid and flooring is Tarkett Granit Safe-T homogenous, slip and fall resistant sheet in all wet areas.

Frequenty Asked Questions

No. Modular buildings, even temporary ones, can be expected to last for decades. Permanent modular buildings may last for generations.

You can choose to purchase or lease modular buildings. At VESTA, we offer two leasing options:

  • Operational lease: With an operational lease, you can essentially rent the building for us as long as you need. When your lease ends, the building will return to our inventory. Operational leases can last for years at a time, although they are typically more affordable if they only last for five years or less.
  • Financed lease: Financed leases allow you to lease a building with the intention of owning. At VESTA, we work with financing partners who are specifically trained to finance leases for modular buildings.

Yes! Modular buildings are easy to customize. Whether you want a specific layout, materials, interior design, exterior design, specialty rooms, furniture, or amenities, we can customize your modular building to fit your needs.

The best way to understand is to remember that all modular construction is prefabricated, but not all prefabricated construction is modular.

Modular construction typically focuses on the assembly of fully closed or nearly closed modules. “3D volumetric” is also a term used for traditional modular construction. Prefab construction refers to anything pre-built for a building project, including pre-built walls, floors, or ceilings.
